Dr. Mary Beth Schamel, DDS

Dr. Mary Beth Schamel was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She attended St. Ursula Academy for high school, and then, completed her undergraduate Biology and Chemistry degrees at Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY as valedictorian. She earned her degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery from The Ohio State University Summa Cum Laude. Starting in 2018, she practiced dentistry in Northern Kentucky alongside her uncle in his family practice. Over the course of that time, she loved being able to befriend and get to know her patients as family and can’t wait to do the same here at Parkway. She decided to join Kevin in 2025 to make this a true family practice! Dr. Schamel not only loves how dentistry is able to improve the health of patients, but also, how it can have some exciting elements that can change a person’s confidence in their smile. Although she loves classic procedures of restorative and preventative dentistry, she particularly enjoys Invisalign and injectable treatments. Dr. Schamel is a member of the Dayton Dental Society, Ohio Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and Omicron Kappa Upsilon (Dental Honor Society).

DR. Kevin Schamel, DDS

Born and raised in Dayton, OH, Dr. Schamel attended Carroll High School, and continued on to the University of Dayton, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-Medical and Pre-Dental studies. He completed his dental education and training at The Ohio State University earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Schamel’s practice focuses on cosmetic, restorative and preventative dentistry. Having taken advanced courses through the Spear Institute in Arizona, Dr. Schamel is skilled in helping patients to improve poor chewing function caused by broken and missing teeth, and he enjoys helping patients to achieve the smile of their dreams through cosmetic veneers and Invisalign. Dr. Schamel is blessed to continue this family dental practice of skilled and compassionate dentists, including his great uncle Dr. Robert C. Schamel, who originally started the practice in 1970. Dr. Schamel is also a member of the Dayton Dental Society, Ohio Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.

Drs. Mary Beth and Kevin met in dental school at The Ohio State University and married in September 2019. They have 2 children: Sarah and Teddy. In their spare time, Drs. Mary Beth and Kevin love spending every second with their family and friends. They also enjoy cooking, spending time outdoors, checking out new family restaurants, and traveling. Their ideal weekend would be hanging out with their kids and dog on their back patio on a nice day. We are thrilled to call Dayton our new home and start this new chapter together at Parkway!
