Crowns

Crowns are tooth-shaped caps that are placed over your teeth. These caps help to protect your remaining tooth and restore the natural shape and functions of your smile. Crowns come in a variety of materials.

  • Ceramic (Porcelain)
  • Porcelain and Metal Fusion
  • Metal Alloys
  • Gold

Bridges

Bridges are used to replace two or more missing teeth. They “bridge” the gap between existing teeth. Bridges can be glued to existing teeth or held in place with a crown/dental implant.

Fillings, Inlays, and Onlays

A filling is created from a tooth-colored composite resin, ceramic, or metal alloy. Fillings are used to “fill in” a tooth’s cavity. Inlays and Onlays are types of fillings. Inlays fill in the hollowed part of a tooth. Onlays are more extensive and usually cover the chewing surface.

Root Canal Therapy

A root canal is necessary when your tooth’s pulp becomes infected. The root canal removes the infected pulp and replaces it with a material known as “gutta-percha”. A crown is usually placed once the procedure has been completed.

Extractions

Sometimes a tooth can’t be saved. In that instance, an extraction is performed to remove the tooth from your jaw. Some reasons where an extraction may be performed include:

  • Infection
  • Overcrowding
  • Impacted Wisdom Tooth

Dental Implants

If you’ve lost your tooth or had an extraction, a dental implant is a great option for replacing your tooth. Unlike removable alternatives, implants are surgically placed into your jaw, under your gums. Dental implants can also be used to secure dental prosthetics, such as dentures and bridges.
